Despite a huge advantage in donor dollars, Rep. Beto O'Rourke, D-Texas, is trailing incumbent Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, by 7 percentage points (52-45 percent) with three weeks remaining before the November midterm election, according to the latest CNN poll.

While Texans mostly have their minds made up in the poll – just 9 percent say they might change their vote – O'Rourke's voters are more locked in on him by a 5 percentage point margin (92 percent to 87 percent unwavering for Sen. Cruz), according to the poll conducted by SSRS.

Despite being a Cuban-American, Sen. Cruz has been polling behind Rep. O'Rourke among Latino voters. O'Rourke trumps Cruz in the demographic 62-35 percent, per CNN.

Sen. Cruz's lead in the historically deep red state of Texas lies in the white vote, where he leads O'Rourke by a 2-1 margin, 66-33 percent, according to the poll.

The poll was conducted Oct. 9-13 before Tuesday night's debate between the candidates, and it surveyed 1,004 adults with a margin of error of 3.8 percentage points.
