Former Sen. Scott Brown Joins Fox News

By    |   Wednesday, 13 February 2013 03:17 PM EST

Former Sen. Scott Brown has signed on as a contributor for Fox News and will make his debut on the cable network Wednesday night.

The Republican from Massachusetts, who lost his seat in November’s election, makes his first appearance on Sean Hannity’s show and will contribute throughout Fox’s programming schedule, the network announced.

“I am looking forward to commenting on the issues of the day and challenging our elected officials to put our country's needs first instead of their own partisan interests," Brown said in a statement.

Rumors that he would join Fox began when he announced that he would not run to replace Sen. John Kerry, who was confirmed as secretary of state last month.

"Senator Brown’s dedication to out-of-the box thinking on key issues makes him an important voice in the country and we are looking forward to his contributions across all Fox News platforms," Bill Shine, Fox’s executive vice president of programming, said in a statement.

Since the election, Fox News has said goodbye to former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and one-time Bill Clinton strategist Dick Morris, and brought on former Ohio Rep. Dennis Kucinich, a Democrat.
