Carly Fiorina to Hillary Clinton: I've 'Accomplished Something'

By    |   Saturday, 24 January 2015 07:17 PM EST

Unlike Hillary Clinton, former Hewlett-Packard chief executive officer Carly Fiorina says she has "accomplished something," and that Americans were killed in the Benghazi terror attack with little response from the United States.

"Like Hillary Clinton, I have traveled around the globe," said the businesswoman, who spoke to conservatives at the Iowa Freedom Summit Saturday. "Unlike her, I have accomplished something. You see, Mrs. Clinton, flying is not an accomplishment. It is an activity."

Fiorina, who now leads several conservative foundations, is a relative newcomer to politics, running just once in an expensive Senate loss in California in 2010. Nevertheless,  there are rumors that she is considering a presidential bid in 2016 and she was quick Saturday to draw more comparisons between herself and Clinton, the presumptive frontrunner for the 2016 Democratic nomination.

"I have met Vladimir Putin," she continued, in a jab at Clinton's service as secretary of state. "I know that it takes far more than a gimmick reset button to halt his ambition."

Further, as a business executive, Fiorina has served as the chairman of an experimental advisory board for several years and knows "China and North Korea and Russia are state sponsors of cyber warfare. I know China has a strategy to steal our intellectual property. I know [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu. I know when he warns us that Iran is a threat to our nation and to his own, we must listen."

And unlike Clinton, she continued, "I know what difference it makes, that our American ambassador and three other brave Americans were killed in a deliberate terrorist attack on the anniversary of 9/11 in Libya. Apparently, unlike Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, I know our response must be more forceful than the arrest of a single individual one year later."

Fiorina went on to tell the conservatives that she knows conservatism works, and pointed to herself as an example.

"I have traveled and lived all over the world, and I know that it is still true in 2015 that it is only in the United States of America that a young woman can start as a secretary and become the chief executive officer of the largest technology company in the world," she said. "That is only possible in the United States of America, because our founders knew what my mother taught me. All of us have God-given gifts. Everyone has potential. And our founders believed that here, everyone has the right to fulfill their potential."

"Hey Iowa, can anyone stop Hillary?" she said. "Yes we can. It starts here. It starts now."
