Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has left open the possibility of remaining Secretary of State if President Barack Obama is reelected, and also appears to have opened the door for an eventual run at the White House.
The Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday that Clinton has been asked by unnamed individuals about staying on at the State Department because of the disaster in Benghazi and maintain stability in the administration amid spreading Middle Eastern chaos.
“A lot of people have talked to me about staying,” Clinton said, but did not give away whether or not it could happen. Her intention, as she has said from the time she accepted the position, has been to leave after one term.

It is speculated in the Journal article that she may be rethinking her departure date not only because of the Libya situation, and others nearby, but also because of her 70 percent approval rating as Secretary of State and appeal to women voters - both of which could help Obama in his bid to remain in the White House.
At a dinner last month, Chinese State Councilor Dai Bing-guo told her that she “will still be young” when she is president, and repeated that she has ruled out a presidential bid.
“It’s important for me to step off this incredibly high wire I’ve been on to take stock of my life,” Clinton said, adding, however, that she “will always want to be in service to my country.”
