Colorado voters in the all-important 18 to 34 range are favoring Libertarian Gary Johnson over Republican Donald Trump in a new poll.
According to the Quinnipiac survey, Johnson has 29 percent support among that voting demographic in Colorado, compared to the 18 percent that support Trump.
Democrat Hillary Clinton is leading the way with 34 percent, while Green Patty nominee Jill Stein has 17 percent support.
Other key findings from the poll numbers:
- Clinton leads overall in Colorado with 41 percent support, followed by Trump (33 percent), Johnson (16 percent), and Stein (7 percent)
- Trump leads among white men with 41 percent support
- Clinton has the most supporters among white women, 45 percent
- 41 percent said they have a strongly favorable opinion of President Barack Obama, while 35 percent said the opposite
Johnson and Stein are trying to garner enough support to reach the 15 percent mark in a handful of major national polls, which would grant them a spot in the presidential debates.
