Conservative filmmaker and author Dinesh D'Souza, a recent recipient of a presidential pardon, will soon debut his new film that compares President Donald Trump to former President Abraham Lincoln.
"Death of a Nation" will appear in theaters nationwide starting Aug. 3. It is based on D'Souza's book of the same name that will be available to the public the same week.
D'Souza made the announcement on his Twitter account Monday.
"Lincoln united his party and saved America from the Democrats for the first time," D'Souza wrote on Twitter. "Can Trump — and we — come together and save America for the second time? #deathofanation."
The film's official Twitter account also promoted the movie, saying, "Lincoln united his party and saved America from the Democrats for the first time. Can Trump — and we — come together and save America for the second time?"
Trump pardoned D'Souza two weeks ago after the conservative pundit was convicted in 2014 of federal campaign law violations. He served eight months in a halfway house and was sentenced to five years probation.
