Donald Trump Jr., reacting to former House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., being named to the Fox Corp. board of directors, predicted former Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn. would be tapped to head the news division.
The jab by Trump Jr. came in a tweet posted by the president’s son on Tuesday.
He wrote: “Next up: Bob Corker will be tapped to head the news division.”
Corker was an outspoken critic of the president.
The tweet by Trump Jr. was in response to a Twitter post by Reuters'.
That tweet read: “(Rupert) Murdoch's new Fox debuts on Nasdaq, names ex-Speaker Paul Ryan to board.”
Attached to the tweet was a Reuters story about Fox Corp. debuting on Nasdaq on Tuesday and announcing the appointment of Ryan and three others to its board. Reuters reported the newly spun-off media company will house assets including the Fox News channel.
Ryan recently clarified his remarks about the president and the 2020 election, saying Trump’s record is proof he will win another term. His remarks came after Ryan had indicated earlier that Trump’s personality could lead to him losing to a Democrat in next year’s election.
On Monday, it was announced that former Democratic National Committee Chair Donna Brazile has been added to the Fox News political roster as a contributor.
