Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton's health is "absolutely" an issue, as is her stamina, Donald Trump's deputy campaign manager, David Bossie, said Wednesday.
"Her stamina is an issue, whether or not she's going to be able to fulfill her office," Bossie, the president and chairman of the conservative advocacy group Citizens United, told Fox News' "Fox and Friends" program. "That's something that every four years, whether it's John McCain, Mitt Romney, Barack Obama, going back to President [Ronald] Reagan, everybody recalls 1984, his re-election. People want to know their president that they're electing is going to be able to serve those four years."
Meanwhile, Bossie said the campaign is excited about bringing the party together with the addition of Texas Sen. Ted Cruz as a supporter, but he commented that Ohio Gov. John Kasich, who has refused to support Trump, is "working through his own situation."
Cruz, though, has offered his services to help Trump with debate preparation, and he "is one of the great debaters of all time," Bossie said. "Mr. Trump and I spoke about that just the other day when we saw that Ted offered that. We're going to be in touch."
Bossie also said he disagrees with members of the "mainstream media" who say Clinton won Monday night's presidential debate.
"I don't know what they're watching," Bossie said. "The polls are showing Mr. Trump is winning. The polls after the debate, they're online, nonscientific, we won almost every one of them. The best case for them, they had a draw. Mr. Trump showed he was presidential. He showed the American people that he had the gravitas, that he had the knowledge base, the temperament to be president."
Clinton did not handle many questions well, Bossie continued, and the campaign is looking forward to the next debate "to be able to really talk about those national security issues."
He also downplayed Clinton's attacks on Trump's record with women, calling her an "enabler" for her husband's indiscretions.
"She'll say and do anything," Bossie said. "Those are Barack Obama's words, not mine. She'll say and do anything to become president of the United States, and I think we're seeing that now."
