Harvard Law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz blasted Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan for comparing Jewish people to “termites” and questioned why others – particularly Democrats – aren’t speaking out.
His comments came during a Thursday interview on television’s “Fox & Friends.”
They were sparked after Farrakhan posted a clip on Twitter, in which he said: "So when they talk about Farrakhan, call me a hater, you know what they do. Call me an anti-Semite. Stop it. I'm anti-termite."
But Dershowitz said: “Farrakhan is a classic anti-Semite. First of all, the analogy to termites comes out of the Nazi playbook. Nazis used the word ‘termites’ consistently to dehumanize Jews and to accuse them of destroying everything good about the world.
“All good people have to come out and condemn (his remarks), but especially people who participated in the Million Man March in 1995 headed by Farrakhan, which really made him prominent in American politics.
“People like Barack Obama, who participated in the March and proudly defended people like (Rep.) Keith Ellison, who worked closely with Farrakhan.”
Meanwhile, Chelsea Clinton has slammed Farrakhan for the remarks.
"Comparing Jews to termites is anti-Semitic, wrong and dangerous," she said.
