Leaked documents from the Open Society Foundations, which is funded by George Soros, show the extent of the NGO's financial and political involvement worldwide, RT reports.
The leaked documents from numerous departments within the foundation reveal its plans and strategies, including reports on European elections, migration, and asylum.
A Breitbart report claims that the documents illustrate how the foundation actively trained socialist members of the European Parliament to combat what they considered to be "xenophobic parties" and to limit free speech under the guise of battling against hateful language.
In its website, The Open Society Foundations says it seeks "to build vibrant and tolerant societies whose governments are accountable and open to the participation of all people [and] to strengthen the rule of law; respect for human rights, minorities, and a diversity of opinion.
But Breibart accuses the NGO of labeling any political party with which they disagree as "xenophobic" in order to limit their rights to express their views in the European Parliament.
One such example given is a document trying to combat the "xenophobic" Italian Northern League, which has been in coalition with Italian governments.
The party seeks greater regional autonomy and fiscal federalism. As part of the party's desire to defend northern Italian traditions, it has a tough stance against illegal immigration, especially from Muslim countries.
Breibart cites an example of "hate speech" that is too broad, such as laws in Germany that have banned critiques or insults against migrants and have led to the arrests of citizens who have posted speech on social media that the government has decided is hateful.
