Donald Trump thinks San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick should consider finding a new country to live after he refused to stand for the national anthem.

"I have followed it and I think it's personally not a good thing," Trump said on "The Dori Monson Show" Monday.

"I think it's a terrible thing, and you know, maybe he should find a country that works better for him, let him try, it won't happen."

Kaepernick is being criticized from all sides after he opted to sit down during the National Anthem before a preseason game Friday night. The NFL said he did not break any rules, although players are "encouraged" to stand during the playing of the song.

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin called Kaepernick an "ungrateful punk," while conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh said the NFL was wrong to allow Kaepernick to stage his protest while not allowing the Dallas Cowboys to wear stickers on their helmets to remember the slain Dallas police officers.
