President Donald Trump said Amazon founder and Washington Post owner Jeff Bezos is "a good guy."
Trump, who has been critical of The Washington Post, told OutKick that he applauds the newspaper's efforts, led by Bezos, to be more fair in its coverage.
"I didn't really know him in the first term," Trump said. "It's such a difference between now and the first time."
Trump said Bezos told him he wants the paper's coverage to be more evenhanded.
"They actually did a couple of bad articles on him (Bezos)," Trump told OutKick. "He said, 'This is crazy, I lose my fortune running this thing and they (Post newsroom employees), you know, they're out of control.' These people are crazy. They're crazy people. They're out of control."
In his second term, Trump said he has more support.
"If you look at the inauguration, look at the people that were on that stage," Trump told OutKick. "Here was a who's who of a world that was totally against me the first time. It's a much different presidency. I have much more support."
Bezos announced the Post's opinion pages will emphasize personal and economic freedom, and last year he killed an editorial endorsing Kamala Haris for president.
"We are going to be writing every day in support and defense of two pillars: personal liberties and free markets," Bezos said. "We'll cover other topics too, of course, but viewpoints opposing those pillars will be left to be published by others."
