If Trump, Biden Nominees, No Labels Will Launch Bid

By    |   Sunday, 20 August 2023 08:50 PM EDT

Former Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan told CNN on Sunday that No Labels, a political group pushing for a third-party presidential ticket, will "very likely" launch an "alternative" bid for the White House, should President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump win the Democratic and Republican nominations, respectively.

"But if Trump and Biden are the nominees, it's very likely that No Labels will get access to the ballot and offer an alternative. And if most of the voters don't want A or B, we have an obligation to give them C, I mean, for the good of the country," Hogan, a Republican, told CNN's "State of the Union."

Hogan, who currently serves as national chair for No Labels, believes that two-thirds of Americans are not interested in voting for either the Democrat or Republican nominee.

"It's an overwhelming majority of people who are completely fed up with politics," he said. "They think Washington is broken. And so even though this normally is not something that we consider and talk about seriously because it hasn't happened in the past, this is something that could happen."

Hogan admitted a successful third-party presidential bid is still a "long way off."
