Trump Names 'Special Ambassadors' to Hollywood

President-elect Donald Trump on Thursday named three well-known actors to be his special envoys to "very troubled" Hollywood.

Trump selected Jon Voight, Mel Gibson, and Sylvester Stallone to serve as his special ambassadors with the goal of reviving the center of the entertainment industry.

"It is my honor to announce Jon Voight, Mel Gibson, and Sylvester Stallone, to be Special Ambassadors to a great but very troubled place, Hollywood, California," Trump posted on Truth Social. "They will serve as Special Envoys to me for the purpose of bringing Hollywood, which has lost much business over the last four years to Foreign Countries, BACK—BIGGER, BETTER, AND STRONGER THAN EVER BEFORE!

"These three very talented people will be my eyes and ears, and I will get done what they suggest. It will again be, like The United States of America itself, The Golden Age of Hollywood!"

Voight, 86, who won an Academy Award for best actor with his role as a paraplegic Vietnam War veteran in "Coming Home," has been a strong Trump supporter.

Days before the Nov. 5 election, Gibson, 69, revealed his support for Trump by saying what life would be like under a President Kamala Harris.

"I know what it'll be like if we let her in. And that ain't good. Miserable track record. No policies to speak of. She's got the IQ of a fence post," Gibson told photographers in late October, TMZ reported.

Stallone, 78, best known for creating and portraying the fighter Rocky Balboa, joined Trump for a Thanksgiving Day feast at Mar-a-Lago. A few days earlier, Stallone called the president-elect "the second George Washington."

"We are in the presence of a really mythical character. I love mythology, and this individual does not exist on this planet," Stallone said of Trump while introducing the president-elect at a Nov. 14 event in Palm Beach, Florida. "Nobody in the world could've pulled off what he pulled off. So, I'm in awe.

"I'll just say this, and I mean it, when George Washington defended his country, he had no idea that he was going to change the world because without him, you can imagine what the world would look like. Guess what we got the second George Washington. Congratulations! … Please welcome the president of the United States, Donald Trump."
