Donald Trump Jr. will be giving a foreign policy speech during his business trip to India this week at an event marketed to Trump Tower buyers at $38,000 to attend, The Washington Post reports.
Trump Jr. is touring India this week to promote several Trump Tower real estate projects, but he will also give a speech titled "Reshaping Indo Pacific Ties: The New Era of Cooperation" during a global business summit Friday night, the Post reported.
Trump Jr. will be joined at the event by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who's also giving a speech, the Post reported.
Newspaper ads are marketing the event to buyers of Trump properties as a chance to "join Mr. Donald Trump Jr. for conversation and dinner" for a booking fee of roughly $38,000 in American dollars.
"Trump's company is literally selling access to the president's son overseas," Jordan Libowitz, communications director for watchdog Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, told the Post. "For many people wanting to impact American policy in the region, the cost of a condo is a small price to pay to lobby one of the people closest to the president, far away from watchful eyes."
Starting Tuesday, Trump Jr. will be promoting Trump Tower real estate projects in Mumbai, the New Delhi suburb of Gurgaon and Kolkata, the Post reported.
Trump Organization's business operations in India number more than any other foreign country, the Post reports, with annual licensing revenue ranging from $1.6 million to $11 million since 2014.
