Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., and Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., talked — but did not come to an agreement — about coordinating their possible presidential bids, The New York Times reported.

Citing two unnamed sources, the Times reported only the two senators were present at the sitdown Wednesday night at Warren's condominium in Washington.

But what was clear, according to the Times, was both are seriously considering seeking the Democratic nomination in 2020. Neither asked for support from the other or tried to dissuade the other from running, the Times reported.

The two would likely be entering a jam-packed field of Democratic primary candidates, several of whom have already positioned themselves to appeal to the grassroots progressives, The Hill noted.

Rep. Beto O'Rourke, D-Texas, beat out both Sanders and Warren in a straw poll of members of the progressive group MoveOn.org.
