U.S. Condemns Bombings at Consulate in NW Pakistan

The White House is condemning the attacks on a U.S. consulate in northwest Pakistan by Islamic militants.

Press secretary Robert Gibbs said Monday the White House has "great concern" about the bombings in Peshawar in which three people died and "strongly condemns" the violence.

The U.S. Embassy in Islamabad said in a statement that at least two Pakistani security guards were killed in the attack and a number of others were seriously wounded. The embassy said the "coordinated attack" involved car bombs and militants attempting to enter the building using grenades and weapons fire.
