Eric Trump: CNN Coverage of President Hurts Our Country

By    |   Wednesday, 20 March 2019 10:44 AM EDT

Eric Trump Wednesday railed against CNN's coverage of his father's presidency, saying that it "actually hurts our country."

"A lot of people watch [CNN] overseas and they're spewing nonsense," Trump told Fox News' "Fox and Friends." "It's fundamentally not fair."

He complained that on any given night, "you can see the hatred in people's eyes" and the worst part is, CNN is watched worldwide.

"When you broadcast to the entire world, every single night they're undermining," said Trump, who also complained about The Washington Post and The New York Times.

He also maintained that scant coverage is given to the economic achievements that have taken place under his father's administration, including the "lowest unemployment we've ever had."

Trump, the executive vice president of the Trump Organization, also said he agrees with his father's contention on Tuesday that there is "collusion" between moves to censor social media and "fake news."

"Look at Google," said Trump. "You had an executive, a couple days after the election up on stage talking to the other Google executives crying, literally crying that Trump won the election. Don't tell me there is no bias."

He said he'd like to see the issues with online media companies go to the Supreme Court because they hide "under the veil" of being private companies.

"You know what? You're no longer a private company, when you're a monopoly," said Trump. "Facebook has 1.8 billion users around the world. You're beyond a private company. You became a monopoly."
