President Donald Trump's son Eric railed Tuesday against Democratic "deep state" lawmakers for their extensive investigations into his family, saying they want records for everything everyone in his family does, including how much baby formula his wife buys to how much beer his half-sister drinks.
"It's not just my father," he told Fox News' "Fox and Friends." "It's 'Eric, I want to see all your bank records. I want to know how much, you know Lara spent on baby formula for Luke. I want to know, you know, how many beers Tiffany had on a Friday afternoon in Georgetown. This is literally things they're asking for,...[from] any Trump family member from any period of time going back in history. They are subpoenaing banks we have not done business with."
The efforts, he added, amount to "presidential harassment 101."
"You know, my father always talked on the campaign trail about the deep state, right?" he said. "This is the deep state."
Rather than fixing healthcare or immigration, "they don't want to fix anything else," Trump also said. "They just want to subpoena everybody that has ever met Trump."
The president, his family, and the Trump Organization have filed a lawsuit against Capital One and Deutsche Bank to keep them from complying with congressional subpoenas, but Trump said there are no hard feelings with the institutions, but instead are fighting against Democrats.
"They're not winning," he said. "The economy is incredible. This country is doing great. I don't think they have any front-runner candidate right now. If it is Joe Biden, I would love to run against him. They have an awful track record from the last administration. What they want to do, they want to harass Trump. They don't want to do their jobs."
