Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan led chants of “death to America” and criticized American conceptions of democracy and freedom during a visit to Iran on the anniversary of the 1979 U.S. embassy takeover in Tehran.

The Iranian state TV released a video of the chant at the University of Tehran on Sunday, Tasnim News Agency reported.

Farrakhan, a notorious anti-Semite who visited Iran Sunday ahead of the renewal of U.S. sanctions against the country, also lashed out at U.S. policymakers for harassing the Iranian people and siding with Saudi Arabia in its proxy war with Iran in Yemen.

“I understand how the enemies have plotted against the Iranian people and I would like to stay alongside you to stop their plots,” he said during a meeting with the secretary of Iran’s Expediency Council, Mohsen Rezaee, according to state-owned news agency Mehr. “Satan seeks to divide Muslims and wants them to kill each other, while God tells us in the Quran to be united.”

During a subsequent speaking appearance at the University of Tehran law school, he also mocked America’s founding ideals, the news agency reported.

“America has never been a democracy and has always leaned towards the wealthy and powerful class,” he said before leading the law students in chanting “Death to Israel” and “Death to America.”

Donald Trump Jr. on Monday slammed Democrats for failing to “disavow” Farrakhan, while Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz called on “all decent people” to condemn Farrakhan for calling Jews “termites.”

"Nazis use the word 'termites' to dehumanize Jews and accuse them of destroying everything good about the world," Dershowitz said, Fox News reported.

Rabbi Shmuley Boteach also called on U.S. leaders to condemn him.
