Pointing towards possibility of classified information being mishandled, the FBI released on Monday about 100 new pages of material from its investigation into Hillary Clinton's email scandal, The Hill reported.
The agency is expected to reveal more information regarding the year-long investigation involving the former secretary of state and her allies.
FBI Director James Comey, who believes that Clinton and her aides were "extremely careless," claimed that the agency did not have enough evidence to start criminal proceedings against the former first lady. Comey repeatedly said that "no reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case."
The Justice Department too gave up the idea of pressing charges against her.
However, Republicans have accused Comey of a bias towards Clinton and rejected the department's conclusion. In response, the investigation agency previously released few of the notes from its investigation, which included a summary of Clinton's interview with federal officials.
Lawmakers from the House Oversight and Intelligence Committees have claimed that the pages released by the FBI has evidence of a criminal "quid pro quo" between high-ranking State Department executives and FBI agents, according to Fox News.
Republicans had pushed for charges against Clinton from the very start and the new release of material can trigger outrage once again.
House Oversight Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz from Utah reportedly told the news organization that there were chances of at least "four hearings" on the matter later this fall.
Democrats, meanwhile, lashed out at the Republicans calling it an agenda to dash Clinton's presidential bid.
