FAU Poll: Trump Beats Sanders in Florida, Leads Biden

President Donald Trump would defeat Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., in a head-to-head matchup in Florida, according to a new Florida Atlantic University/BEPI poll.

And he leads former Vice President Joe Biden by 2 percentage points in another matchup, where the margin of error is 2.7 points.

Here’s how the Florida poll results break down:

  • 51% say they would vote for Trump, while 49% would vote for Biden. In a January poll, Trump trailed Biden 51%-49%.
  • 53% would vote for Trump, while 47% would vote for Sanders. Trump had trailed Sanders in January 53%-47%.
  • 49% approve of the way Trump is handling his job, compared to 41% who disapprove.
  • 52% are confident that the federal government will be able to handle the outbreak of the coronavirus, compared to 31% who are not confident.
  • 61% favor Biden in the Democrat’s presidential primary, while 25% support

The full poll, conducted March 5-7, surveyed 1,216 Floridians.
