Rupert Murdoch received a perfect grade from his son for running Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network since July.

James Murdoch, the CEO of 21st Century Fox, said the co-chairman of the media giant deserves an "A+" for his efforts.

According to Ad Week, the younger Murdoch spoke at the 2016 UBS Global Media and Communications Conference Monday morning in New York City.

The abrupt leadership change at Fox News occurred in July after former CEO Roger Ailes stepped down amid a sexual harassment scandal. Former anchor Gretchen Carlson and other women, including Megyn Kelly, accused him of making unwanted sexual advances.

James Murdoch said at Monday's conference the network "did a good job in acting decisively" in the wake of the Ailes allegations, Variety reported.

Regarding the expectation of tumbling ratings at cable news networks in the aftermath of the election, Murdoch said Fox is weathering the storm well.

"I think Fox News' prospects for 2017 [are] very strong," he said, according to Ad Week. Ratings "are down less than we expected."
