Franklin Graham Praises Judge on Transgender Ruling for 'Wisdom and Courage'

The Rev. Franklin Graham Tuesday praised a federal judge for his "wisdom and common sense and … courage" in blocking President Barack Obama's "outrageous" decree on transgender bathrooms.

"I'm thankful for a judge with wisdom and common sense — and who has the courage to do the right thing," Graham said on Facebook. "Thirteen states and two school districts had sued over President Obama's outrageous transgender bathroom decree, which Hillary Clinton supports."

Graham is the president of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and the Samaritan's Purse global charity.

U.S. District Judge Reed O'Connor in Fort Worth, Texas, on Sunday barred the administration from enforcing the policy, which would have allowed transgender students to use bathrooms and locker rooms according to their gender identity.

In his 38-page order, O'Connor sided with Texas and 12 other states that argued the White House's policy usurps local control and threatens the safety and privacy of students.

"He is so right," Graham said. "Thankfully, the injunction he issued applies nationwide and temporarily blocks this administration from requiring school districts to allow transgender students to choose which restroom and locker rooms to use."

The evangelist asked readers to share his post "and pray that this will be a turning of the tide for the outrageous transgender laws that LGBTQ activists and the Democratic Party have been trying to force down our throats as a nation.

"This battle's not over," Graham declared. "We've got to continue to pray and work against this."
