Rep. Tulsi Gabbard Wednesday slammed President Donald Trump as "Saudi Arabia's b****" after his announcement that the United States will stand with the country after the CIA's assessment about Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's involvement in the death of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi.
"Hey @realdonaldtrump: being Saudi Arabia's b***** is not "America First,"" Gabbard, a National Guard veteran who served two terms in the Middle East tweeted.
On Tuesday, Trump said the U.S. will remain a "steadfast partner" of Saudi Arabia, and that he does not intend to cancel military contracts with Riyadh, as "Russia and China would be the enormous beneficiaries."
Trump also said that it "could be very well that the crown prince had knowledge of this tragic event – maybe he did and maybe he didn't!"
He added, "That being said, we may never know all of the facts surrounding the murder of Mr. Jamal Khashoggi... the United States intends to remain a steadfast partner of Saudi Arabia to ensure the interests of our country, Israel and all other partners in the region."
Gabbard, D-Hawaii, last week called for an end to the Saudi intervention in Yemen, reports CBS News, saying that it is 'long overdue that we end U.S. complicity in Saudi Arabia's atrocities."
Gabbard also has been criticized for her own views on Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad, after meeting with him last year.
"Big words coming from a woman who pals around with Bashar al-Assad as he chemically gasses women and children," Meghan McCain tweeted to Gabbard Wednesday.
