Vice President Mike Pence's older brother Greg will take his former Indiana congressional seat, CNN projects.

The older Pence was elected in the state's deep-red 6th Congressional District as a replacement for former Rep. Luke Messer, R-Ind., who resigned to seek the state's Republican Senate nomination.

With 26 percent of the vote in, Pence was leading Democratic challenger Jeannine Lake by 63 percent to 34 percent.
