Hillary Hasn't Given Up: 'I'd Like to Be President'

By    |   Monday, 29 October 2018 11:12 AM EDT

Former secretary of state Hillary Clinton said last week that although she doesn’t want to run for president again after her failed bid in 2016, she would “like to be president,” The Hill reports.

At a Q&A Friday night, Recode’s Kara Swisher asked Clinton, “do you want to run again,” to which Clinton quickly said, “no,” but added that she would “like to be president,” when pressed.

The former Democratic nominee said that “there’s going to be so much work to be done,” after a Democrat “hopefully” wins in 2020.

"The work would be work that I feel very well-prepared for having been in the Senate for eight years, having been a diplomat in the State Department," Clinton said.

She added that she has “no idea” if she will be a part of that work, saying that she’s “not even going to think about it ‘til we get through this Nov. 6 election about what’s going to happen after that, but I’m going to do everything in my power to make sure we have a Democrat in the White House come January of 2021.”

On Monday, Clinton issued several endorsements to Democratic gubernatorial candidates, tweeting for voters to back Democratic candidates in Michigan, Arizona, Alaska, New Hampshire and Maine.
