In a stunning rebuke of the U.S. president, former challenger Hillary Clinton said President Donald Trump "would like to be like" Russia's Vladimir Putin, saying Trump has "tendencies toward authoritarianism" and "I don’t think he really values democracy."
"Well, hopefully he hasn't ordered the killing of people and journalists and the like," Clinton told Bloomberg News' Charlie Rose, stopping short of a full comparison of Trump to the Russian leader.
Clinton told Rose that Putin and North Korea's Kim Jung Un "are delighted with Donald Trump . . . they have played him."
"I don't think he really values democracy, Charlie," Clinton added to Rose.
". . . He's a top-down guy. . . . He has tendencies toward authoritarianism."
