Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server as secretary of state was apparently an open secret all over Washington.
The Washington Times reports that scores of senators, judges, White House officials and media outlets could have found out about the controversial practice if they had looked carefully.
That's because Clinton's private email address was passed on to others in messages with multiple recipients.
The Times says that one email from lawyer and foreign policy analyst Anne-Marie Slaughter contained Clinton's address along with Supreme Court Justices Stephen Breyer and Elena Kagan, Jeffrey Toobin of CNN, David Brooks of The New York Times, CIA Director David Petraeus and Obama aide Benjamin Rhodes.
Computer specialists said they would have had to know what they were looking for to spot Mrs. Clinton's address, but it was there for anyone who did look — raising questions about how her unique arrangement remained secret for so long, The Times' Stephen Dinan reports.
Clinton's use of a private server, on which some classified information was reportedly passed, is currently under investigation by the FBI.
