Hulk Hogan has been reinstated into the WWE Hall of Fame, World Wrestling Entertainment announced on Sunday, WVTM 13 has reported.
WWE said in a statement that "This second chance follows Hogan's numerous public apologies and volunteering to work with young people, where he is helping them learn from his mistake."
The reinstatement comes after a three-year suspension, when WWE terminated his contract in 2015 after Hogan said on a leaked sex tape ranting negatively about African-Americans, admitting to being a "racist, to a point" and using the N-word on multiple occasions, according to CBS Sports.
When Hogan was ousted from the WWE Hall of Fame, he was also deleted from the company's website and his merchandise was taken out of the company's online shop, The New York Post reported.
His photo and biography were back on the Hall of Fame page on Sunday.
Hogan issued an apology for his statements to People in 2015, saying that "It was unacceptable for me to have used that offensive language; there is no excuse for it; and I apologize for having done it," adding that "This is not who I am. I believe very strongly that every person in the world is important and should not be treated differently based on race, gender, orientation, religious beliefs or otherwise. I am disappointed with myself that I used language that is offensive and inconsistent with my own beliefs."
Hogan, a six-time WWE world heavyweight champion and six-time WCW world heavyweight champion, was originally inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005, according to CBS.
Hogan reacted to his reinstatement with a post on Twitter.
