Former Acting Director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement Thomas Homan on Thursday said that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., is “disgusting,” Mediaite reports.
Homan, who retired at the end of last June, made the comment on Fox News’ “Fox & Friends,” after host Steve Doocy asked what he had to say to the speaker, who recently sent a letter to President Donald Trump asking him to delay the State of the Union address or to present it to Congress in writing during the ongoing government shutdown.
Homan made the comment shortly after the two had discussed the prevalence of insulting language in today’s political discourse.
“But why is she” disgusting, Doocy asked, according to Newsweek. “She is trying to make a political point.”
Pelosi, Homan said, “is scared to death that a president is going to speak straight to the American people more than eight minutes, and explain there is a crisis on the border.”
“If Nancy Pelosi saw what I saw the three, four years of my career, maybe she’d have a different attitude,” he continued. “I’ve stood in the back of a tractor trailer surrounded by 19 dead aliens, including a five-year-old boy who died in his father’s arms because he suffocated to death.”
“More people come into this country, more people die,” Homan said. “I’ve seen many people die on this journey, so it’s not just about protecting the sovereignty of this country, enforcing laws, it’s about saving lives of a vulnerable population that’s being misled.”
