President Donald Trump continued his campaign against voter fraud, vowing "maximum" prosecution for those caught voting illegally.
"Law Enforcement has been strongly notified to watch closely for any ILLEGAL VOTING which may take place in Tuesday’s Election (or Early Voting)," President Trump tweeted Monday morning. "Anyone caught will be subject to the Maximum Criminal Penalties allowed by law. Thank you!"
President Trump often has offered suspicions of massive voter fraud in the United States, particularly among non-citizens and illegal immigrants.
He claimed he would have beaten defeated Democrat Hillary Clinton in the popular vote – buoyed by a large amount of votes in the blue state of California, which President Trump did not waste time campaigning in – if not for "millions of people who voted illegally."
"In addition to winning the Electoral College in a landslide, I won the popular vote if you deduct the millions of people who voted illegally," President Trump tweeted after winning the Electoral College in November 2016.
