Israeli jets struck at an underground terror site in the Gaza Strip, as well as two targets belonging to Hamas naval forces, The Jerusalem Post reported on Wednesday.

The army said the strikes followed an attack on an IDF position by terrorists who infiltrated into Israel from Gaza on Tuesday, as well as continued attempts to harm Israel using drones and kites.

The IDF did not provide any more details about the nature of the underground infrastructure, but it did put out a statement saying that "the Hamas terror organization is accountable for all threats originating from the Gaza Strip, above and below ground, and will bear the consequences for its actions against Israeli civilians and Israeli sovereignty."

In the air strikes, six missiles hit a facility belonging to Hamas in Jabaliya in the northern part of the Strip, according to The Times of Israel, which cited a news site affiliated with Hamas.

Palestinians also said at least two boats were destroyed in Gaza’s small seaport and parts of the facility went up in flames.

The Jerusalem Post reported Palestinians as saying that at least one of the boats was due to sail to meet a flotilla hoping to reach Gaza.
