President Donald Trump blasted “disgraced” James Comey after an Inspector General’s report found the former FBI director violated the agency’s policies with his memos of private conversation with President Donald Trump.
Trump’s latest remarks on Comey came in a Thursday tweet.
He wrote: “Perhaps never in the history of our Country has someone been more thoroughly disgraced and excoriated than James Comey in the just released Inspector General’s Report. He should be ashamed of himself!”
The Inspector General’s Office said Comey violated agency rules by giving a memo containing unclassified information to a friend with instructions to share the contents with a reporter.
He also failed to notify the FBI after he was fired in May 2017 that he had kept some of the memos at home, the report said.
