Jill Biden says her husband is the most equipped Democratic presidential candidate to take on President Donald Trump.
"I know that not all of you are committed to my husband, and I respect that, but I want you to think about your candidate, his or her electability, and who's going to win this race," the former second lady said during a campaign stop in Manchester, New Hampshire.
"So, yes, you know your candidate might be better on, I don't know, healthcare than Joe is, but you've got to look at who's going to win this election, and maybe you have to swallow a little bit and say, 'OK, I personally like so and so better,' but your bottom line has to be that we have to beat Trump," Jill Biden added.
Biden has been leading most Democratic polls, though Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., has made big strides since the second Democratic presidential debate.
According to a recent Economist/YouGov poll, 65% of Democratic voters polled say Biden would "probably beat Donald Trump" in the general election, while Warren received the second-highest mark in that area, with 57%.
