Former Vice President Joe Biden’s favorability rating has fallen in the latest poll of Democratic voters from Monmouth University as he plans to launch his presidential campaign later this week.

Biden’s favorability fell 7% in the latest poll, down to 56% from 63% in a poll taken last March. That same month, former Nevada state assemblywoman Lucy Flores said that Biden inappropriately touched her at a campaign rally in 2014.

  • Biden: 56% favorability, 27% support for nomination.
  • Sen. Bernie Sanders: 44% favorability, 20% support for nomination.
  • Sen. Kamala Harris: 40% favorability, 8% support for nomination.
  • Sen. Elizabeth Warren: 32% favorability, 6% support for nomination.
  • Mayor Pete Buttigieg: 29% favorability, 8%support for nomination.

The poll notes that although Biden’s favorability rating has dropped steadily since January, when he was favored by 71% of Democratic voters, he remains the candidate that Democratic voters are most likely to support as the party’s nominee in 2020 with 27% of voters that are Democrats or lean Democratic.

Monmouth polled 330 registered voters that either identify as members of the Democratic Party or lean towards the Democratic Party by phone from April 11 to 15, with a margin of error of +/- 5.4 percentage points.
