Podcast host Joe Rogan is considering a move to Texas because of the restrictive coronavirus measures California has in place.
Rogan hinted on his show “The Joe Rogan Experience” that he was contemplating the move.
"I might move to Texas," Rogan said on Wednesday. "Here's the thing, if California continues to be restrictive, I don’t know if this is a good place to live. First of all, it's extremely expensive. The taxes here are ridiculous and if they really say that we can't do stand-up [comedy] until 2022."
He didn’t commit to a city in particular, but said he likes Austin, Dallas and Houston. He said there was no point in staying in California if he can't do stand-up comedy shows.
"I might jet, I'm not kidding. I'm not kidding," he said. "This is silly. I don't need to be here."
He said the only things holding him back are his friends and the Comedy Store, which is where he performs stand-up routines.
"But if they won't let us do the Store, we can do stand-up in other places, why would we stay here?” he said.
He then called comedian Bryan Callen, who said he was performing a stand-up show at the Houston Improv for a reduced audience of 200 people.
Callen also complained about California's continued lockdown.
