CIA Director John Brennan is "fully confident" the security briefers acted as "quintessential professional intelligence officers" despite Donald Trump’s claim they showed "body language" disapproving of President Barack Obama’s policies.
"I know the briefers that have been briefing the candidates," Brennan told CBS host John Dickerson on "Face the Nation"on Sunday. "They are the quintessential professional intelligence officers. They do their work very well and they know as professionals they are to deliver substance.
"We don't comment on policy. We don't give policy recommendations. So I am fully confident that they comported themselves with the utmost professionalism and demonstrated their real breadth and depth of intelligence capabilities."
Dickerson was asking the CIA director to respond to Trump’s claim made to NBC host Matt Lauer in the "Commander-in-Chief Forum" this week.
"What I did learn is that our leadership, Barack Obama, did not follow what our experts said to do," Trump said on NBC and MSNBC.
"I could tell — pretty good with the body language — that they were not happy. Our leaders did not follow what they were recommending."
