Antivirus pioneer John McAfee said that hackers strike phones and mobile devices with more ease than computers.
"I have the best habits in the world, and I cannot keep my phone secure," McAfee said,
according to USA Today.
Speaking at a computer security conference, he added he is less concerned about computer security because hackers find it "trivial" to secretly turn on sensors in the phones people carry with them every day.
McAfee, who sold his namesake antivirus company years ago, said the biggest problem with security today is the people using the technology,
according to the Denver Post. Of those who get a message saying their account has changed, "90 percent of people" will click on it.
"We don't even know our friends' phone numbers anymore," he said in the Post report.
The pioneer remains active in cybersecurity industry.
In another USA Today report, McAfee said he is the proposed CEO of a company that will offer anti-spyware products for mobile devices.
McAfee previously announced that he is aiming to get the Libertarian Party's nomination for president. While he is not active on the campaign trail, according to USA Today, saying he isn't "a hand shaker or a baby kisser," he believes he will get the Libertarian nomination at the party's convention on May 29.
The software magnate was called the "most entertaining" cybersecurity expert by
the website TechCrunch.
