Duncan Hunter: 'King Abdullah Is Not Barack Obama' on ISIS

By    |   Tuesday, 03 February 2015 09:51 PM EST

Jordan's King Abdullah is prepared to administer retribution against the Islamic State (ISIS) for burning a Jordanian military pilot alive, said Rep. Duncan Hunter after meeting with the king on Tuesday.

Abdullah is in Washington to seek military equipment from the United States in his small nation's fight against ISIS. He was not originally scheduled to meet with President Barack Obama, but the White House invited him after a video of the brutal killing was released on Tuesday.

"ISIS is now going to regret this … because King Abdullah is not Barack Obama," Hunter said on Fox News Channel's "On the Record with Greta Van Susteren." He said there is no chance of a stronger strategy from the United States until Obama is out of office in two years.

Hunter said Abdullah referenced the Clint Eastwood movie "Unforgiven," and said there will be retribution. Jordan has said it will execute a female ISIS member it has in custody at dawn Wednesday.

Jordan will be increasing their air sorties and will add ground troops, Hunter said.

"Hopefully, they will lead from the front and crush ISIS," he said. "That is what the king said that they are going to do. They are going to go in and crush ISIS to the best of their abilities with their Arab allies and talk to the rest of the Muslim world and say hey, this crazy cult is not Islam."
