Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., on Friday claimed that during his meeting with Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, the tech mogul "admitted there 'clearly was bias'" against the anti-abortion group Live Action.

"Just finished meeting w @facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg. Had a frank conversation. Challenged him to do two things to show FB is serious about bias, privacy & competition. 1) Sell WhatsApp & Instagram 2) Submit to independent, third-party audit on censorship. He said no to both," Hawley tweeted on Friday.

Live Action, an anti-abortion organization founded and led by Lila Rose, accused Facebook of censoring the group and labeling its views as "false."

"Zuckerberg admitted there 'clearly was bias' in the [Live Action Lila Rose] censorship. Said bias is 'an issue we've struggled with for a long time,'" he added.

"With thousands of OB-GYN's and medical professionals on the record agreeing with us that the direct killing of a child is never medically necessary, it is telling that Facebook decided to fact-check our information, which we have posted about for over three years, using two abortionists for their sourcing," Rose said in a statement.

"Not only did they fail to get disinterested perspectives, they appear to have gone out of their way to find pro-abortion activists whose public opposition to our views is indisputable. This is clear evidence of bias and discrimination against our over three million strong Facebook community members and an outrageous act of censorship on the part of Facebook."
