Josh Romney Pulls 4 From Wrecked SUV, Tweets Picture

One of Mitt Romney's sons was first on an accident scene on Thanksgiving and helped four people out of the wrecked vehicle, but caught some grief online for tweeting a picture of himself smiling next to the wrecked vehicle.

Josh Romney told The Salt Lake Tribune he was driving his family home from Thanksgiving dinner with his parents and other family members when he left Interstate 215  and stopped at an intersection. An SUV "traveling at highway speed" passed his car, drove through the intersection, and crashed into a house, he said.

Romney said he drove to the crash site and found the SUV turned on its side inside the kitchen of the house. He said he spoke with all four occupants, who indicated they were not seriously hurt. He helped them out of the vehicle and onto the ground.

The driver had minor injuries, the Tribune reported. No one in the house was hurt.

"My family and I are grateful that no one was seriously injured and glad to have been able to help those affected by this terrible accident," Romney said in a written statement. "What I did to help the people involved in the accident is what anyone else would do who witnessed such a potentially dangerous situation."

Romney tweeted a photo of himself standing next to the overturned SUV with a ceiling fan visible from the house. Some praised his efforts helping the wreck victims, but some called his tweeting of the photo an example of a "humblebrag."
