Conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch has filed a lawsuit for copies of former acting Attorney General Sally Yates' emails from the end of January 2017, Politico reports.
Judicial Watch filed the Freedom of Information Act lawsuit Friday in Washington federal court, requesting Yates' emails from Jan. 20 to 31, the day before President Donald Trump fired her for refusing to defend his executive order on immigration.
Yates reportedly warned the Trump administration of former national security adviser Michael Flynn's communications with the Russian ambassador to the United States, which eventually led to his resignation in January.
The Daily Caller also filed a FOIA request for her emails in February, after the report first emerged from The Washington Post.
Yates is scheduled to testify about what she told Trump's White House about Flynn's relationship with Russia on Monday.
