Justice Dept.: Deporting 3 Tren de Aragua Members to Chile

Monday, 24 March 2025 04:16 PM EDT

The U.S. Department of Justice said on Monday the U.S. has declared three members of Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua as "alien enemies" and that it plans to extradite them to Chile.

The Justice Department said in a statement that the three individuals are wanted in Chile for violent crimes.

"These three Tren de Aragua members pose a grave risk to the public safety and national security of the United States, just as they allegedly did in Chile," said Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche. "Based on their membership in TdA, they have been declared Alien Enemies."
