Julie Golob on Monday resigned from the National Rifle Association board, becoming the fourth board member in the past two weeks to quit, The Washington Post reports.

"I am proud to have had the opportunity to represent the members of the NRA, but I can no longer commit to fulfilling the duties of a director," Golob, a professional sport shooter, wrote on her website without providing a reason for her resignation.

The resignation from the 76-member NRA board is the latest in a series of upheavals at the embattled organization.

Three NRA board members who raised concerns about reports of leaderships' reckless spending and mismanagement resigned in early August, and the organization is still involved in a lawsuit with New York Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo. Scrutiny of the NRA has also increased on Capitol Hill, with Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore., investigating the organization's finances and ties to Russia.

NRA President Carolyn Meadows in a statement said Golob would continue to support the NRA's programs.

"Julie, a gifted shooter, will continue to support the NRA's programs," she said. "We proudly welcome her ongoing support of our organization."
