Kim Kardashian West has reportedly had several private phone conversations with the President Donald Trump’s son-in-law and adviser Jared Kushner in a bid to win a pardon for a grandmother serving life behind bars for her participation in a drug-trafficking ring.

The media website Mic reports the curvy reality show star is hoping to convince Trump to spring 62-year-old Alice Marie Johnson from jail.

The calls have taken place over a number of months and have "picked up in intensity" in the last several days," according to a source who spoke with Mic.

Mic’s Jake Horowitz and Kendall Ciesemier report Kardashian has hired a team of lawyers -- including Shawn Holley, who’s represented Paris Hilton, Snoop Dogg and Lindsay Lohan -- to push for Johnson’s release.

Johnson, a mother of four and grandmother of four, has been serving a life sentence in a federal prison since 1996.

She and 14 others were busted on drug and money laundering charges in 1993, and while Johnson admits she acted as a go-between and relayed messages to dealers, she insists she never sold drugs for the Memphis, Tennessee peddlers.

According to Johnson’s daughter Tretessa, her mother said: "I couldn’t find a job fast enough to take care of my family. I felt like a failure. I went to a complete panic and out of desperation I made one of the worst decisions of my life to make some quick money. I became involved in a drug conspiracy."

Tretessa has launched an online petition for Johnson’s release that has gained more than 208,000 signatures.

"My mother … is a 62-year-old grandmother serving life without parole for a first time nonviolent drug offense. She has been in prison 21 years and will die there unless President Trump grants her clemency," Tretessa writes in the petition.

"My family’s life changed forever when she was sentenced to life in federal prison. She was one of thousands of first time, nonviolent offenders who were given long mandatory prison terms. She had lost her job and was given a chance to make money by helping someone sell cocaine.

"My mother has accepted full responsibility for her actions and used that experience to better her life and the lives of others. Since being incarcerated she has been a model prisoner who mentors women and has become an ordained minister … Her desire upon release is to assist the community with the needs of ex-offenders to help reduce recidivism."

There’s no word on whether Kardashian, her husband Kanye West, Kushner or Trump will meet in person to discuss Johnson’s case, Mic says.
