A third video has emerged of the
confrontation between a school resource officer and a South Carolina high school student that shows the student punching the officer, says Richard County Sheriff Leon Lott.
Lott made the announcement during a Tuesday press conference, and said that although the third cell phone video shot by a student shows the student swinging at Deputy Ben Fields, it does not necessarily justify his actions of pulling the student from her desk and dragging her across the floor
The incident occurred Monday at Spring Valley High School in Columbia when the student reportedly refused to stop talking on her phone and refused to leave the classroom.
Lott appeared on CNN's
"The Lead with Jake Tapper" on Tuesday, saying that while the new video shows the student "striking and punching at the officer," still, "his actions after he put his hands on her disturb me."
