A New York City art gallery owner says he was viciously beaten in Manhattan by a large group of teens for wearing a "Make America Great Again" hat.
Jahangir "John" Turan, 42, told a Fox affiliate he was attacked on Tuesday in Chinatown, and was wearing the MAGA hat he had bought earlier in the day at Trump Tower.
"This is America. I love President Trump. I think he's doing a great job," Turan said.
He said his attackers were yelling "f–k Trump" and one of them "bashed" his head into a metal scaffolding pole, fracturing hs cheek and giving him a black eye.
"One girl flipped my hat, and then within five, eight seconds, I got pushed from the back and my face hit the scaffolding pole," he told a CBS affiliate in New York.
"This is America, you know? Everybody has their right," Turan told the CBS outlet. "To wear a hat like this, this can happen to you. That's sad."
Police are investigating, the news outlets reported.
