Trump's Legal Team to File Comey Complaint With DOJ

President Donald Trump's lawyer Marc Kasowitz plans to submit a complaint with the Department of Justice against former FBI director James Comey as soon as next week.

Washington Examiner reported Kasowitz, who works as Trump's outside legal counsel in the Russia probe, will file a complaint with the DOJ's inspector general and the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Comey faced questions from the Senate Intelligence Committee two weeks ago. He fell short of accusing Trump of trying to squash the bureau's Russia investigation, but Comey said he was concerned with some of what Trump said to him during several phone and in-person meetings this year. Comey also said Trump lied when he claimed the FBI was in disarray at the time of Comey's dismissal.

Trump's team pounced on Comey that day and has been working on a complaint against the former top cop ever since.

The Department of Justice brought in former FBI Director Robert Mueller to serve as a special counsel for its Russia investigation.
