Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., announced that Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee have a plan to force more information out of former special prosecutor Robert Mueller when he testifies in front of the panel on Wednesday.
Waters made her remarks in a Monday evening tweet. It came as a Justice Department official wrote a letter to Mueller informing him that he needs to stick to the public findings in his report.
Mueller’s testimony, the letter stated, "must remain within the boundaries of your public report because matters within the scope of your investigation were covered by executive privilege, including information protected by law enforcement, deliberative process, attorney work product, and presidential communications privileges.”
But Waters tweeted: “The Judiciary members have a good plan to force more info out of Mueller when he testifies before the committee. If this works, this will give us the ammunition we need to start impeachment immediately.”
Waters did not disclose any additional details.
